Helping you to...achieve freedom from fear
Tackling fears & phobias
Phobias come in lots of different shapes and sizes but one thing they have in common is their ability to create discomfort, irrational fear and sometimes panic.
If you don’t regularly come into contact with your phobia, then it may not affect your day to day life. But, all too often, we organise ourselves to avoid coming into contact with our phobias or to allow us to seek safety at the earliest sign, allowing them to compromise how we live, which can impact on others around us, like family and friends.
Fears and Phobias can be related to things, places, situations, animals or feelings and represent something dangerous to us.
These come with a whole set of physical symptoms that kick in the moment we are in the presence of our fear or phobia, including:

-
Sweaty palms
-
A racing heart
-
Pounding head
-
Nausea
Given how debilitating these irrational fears can be and the visceral impact on mind and body, you may be surprised at how quickly they can be overcome. With the Rewind Technique, a phobia can be reversed in as little as one or two sessions.
Alternatively, we apply the CBT approach of ‘systematic desensitisation’, one of the most successful and evidence-based treatments for phobias, which involves gradual exposure in your imagination while using relaxation.
Therapy sessions initially involve learning deep relaxation techniques which then progress to using the techniques when in the presence of your fear, initially via hypnosis, using imaginal and visualisation techniques, gradually building towards experiencing your fear in real life.

I can also teach you breathing techniques to use alongside these techniques to calm your nervous system and help you to better address the core techniques
A unique approach
Due to the personal nature of therapy, it's difficult to prescribe simply a "one size fits all" approach for a specific issue. My approach involves a blend of various therapy techniques, tailored specifically to provide you with the support and guidance that I feel would benefit you.

FRAMEWORKS & MODALITIES:

What can I expect to invest? After the free consultation, every session* (including the longer introduction) is charged at £115 (€135), or £103.50 if you commit to 5 sessions at once (£517.50 / €675). My sessions tend to take between 1h - 1h30 and you will receive an email afterwards recapping what we discussed and agreed, as well as a copy of the recording if there is one. What you will also be investing in is time, attention and the intention to better your state of wellbeing. The attitude you bring to the treatment is enormously important. A client/therapist relationship is fundamentally collaborative: we work together to help you make the changes you would like to see in your life. The more positive and motivated you are, and the more time you invest outside the therapy room implementing what we discussed, the quicker you will feel the results. Your role in this process is more vital than mine, I am just your guide in this process. * Be aware if you are surfing around to compare prices that a typical ‘therapy hour’ lasts only 50 minutes elsewhere.

Can I pay using private medical healthcare? An increasing number of private medical insurers and Private Health Cash Plans in the UK cover hypnotherapy so it is worth checking whether it is included in your plan. Those which do will usually recognise CNHC registration for reimbursement, of which I am a member. Always check with your insurance provider first as specific levels of coverage and annual limits may apply.
